$OCBC Bank (O39.SG)$ This is purely my guess. It's because of ex dividends right? Yes but many wonder why. From today till dividend payment date, whoever buys ocbc stock is not going to enjoy the dividend + special dividend. So to make up for this loss, the stock has to be sold at a discount else there's really no incentive for people to continue buying this stock. That's why stocks usually drop by around the dividend amount on ex dividend date. Of course, not to worry, i...

CNN reported that China has quietly roll back tariffs on some US-made semiconductors (import agencies said). This is perhaps start of thawing after Thrump said that he would lower tariff for China? Hopefully this comes soon. Back to OCBC counter, for those who are shorting it, please take care it doesn't burn your fingers.

To think that our banks will drop indefinitely is to ignore the strong fundamentals of our banking system and our financial hub status in SE Asian. In addition, we are having Polling Day soon. Wouldn't there be a polling day effect or at least the banks themselves buying back to make investors happy?
$OCBC Bank (O39.SG)$ To those claiming OCBC is dropping, just take a proper look at the chart and let the history speak. It’s well-known that most listed companies experience a price dip on the dividend ex-date. This is completely normal, especially when short-term investors jump in for the dividend and exit right after. If you review OCBC’s price movement over the past two years, you’ll see a consistent trend. After the ex-date, the price usually dips for a few days then climbs back up. This is...

Exactly. I chose to average in after the dividend ex-date because I expected the price to drop more than the SGD 0.57 payout. My focus is on long-term investing and keeping my cost as low as possible and it looks like that decision paid off. I’m very happy with the entry. If the price drops again, I’ll continue adding. But for now it seems to be holding above 15.90 and no longer dipping below 15.80.

It doesn’t matter if the market temporarily shifts its attention to UOB, DBS or OCBC, the big three are solid and stable. You really can’t go wrong with any of them if you’re focused on long-term investment. If you have the capital, just buy all three.
$OCBC Bank (O39.SG)$bank stock is healthy with steady but slow capital gain, if no major economic change, less likely to fall back, OCBC, DBS and UOB reserve money to buy back when fall in order to reduce impact from tariff, that's why it is trustworthy, bank stock buyer mostly seldom trade
