think about it.
unless you think that US economy tanks, enters a long term recession for 10 years, stock market gets lower and lower, there's no sight of recovery, then you should be thinking of selling everything and short the stock market.
if you honestly think US economy is tanking, then you have to do that.

Here is an idea. The USA has 7 trillion debt that needs to be paid in 2025.
You introduce fear to the market through tariffs. Investors pull away from stocks and go into 10y bonds to lock in higher bond yields. As more follow bond yields drop. When lower rates come in, they refinance the dept at the lower rate.

Phil Philosoraptor Thecoinflip : it will last until the situation cools i think this could go down anither 10% maybe just next week but if theres any good news over the weekend that could help a vietnam deal will help trumps gonna make a show of it so if the Vietnam guy comes to washington its calls for the day after the EU slow as ever has said theyre gonna sit on their hands and think about it for a bit theyll probably decide what they want to do by eom
on the flip side one of Xi’s people suggested they wont be backing down and if the US insists on this path theyll apply tariffs as an addrional tax on US equity incomes. so basically chinese capital will flee the market in a run. if that happens itll be like the covid crash and the great finacial crisis had a baby and they raised it to identify as the 1929 crash

Yan Zhang8 Phil Philosoraptor : I think there is a misunderstanding. The USA is the world's largest market for imports, while China is the world's largest exporter. The impact of tariffs on companies that produce in the USA is minimal because the majority of their products are contracted to foreign manufacturers. The worst option for those companies would be to relocate their factories back to the USA, while countries like China, which are responsible for producing exports and import very few products from the USA, are the ones most affected.
