The trial of Musk against OpenAI will start in the spring of next year.
On Friday local time, a federal judge in the USA ruled that billionaire Elon Musk's lawsuit against the AI company OpenAI will start a jury trial in the spring of 2026. The presiding judge of the case, Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, of the Northern District of California, rejected Musk's request to suspend OpenAI's transition to a profit-making model last month, and proposed to expedite the proceedings. This new development adds to the courtroom showdown between the world's richest person and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. The two parties had previously reached an agreement for an expedited review of OpenAI's transition to profitability. Musk had a collaboration with Altman in 2015.
