Investors fear that Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company may not significantly boost its revenues, explaining its lower P/S ratio. For a rise, there would need to be a positive shift in the company's revenue fortune.
Analyst Emmanuel Rosner believes Goodyear is set to start a new chapter with a credible operational turnaround plan, strategic portfolio optimization, and upcoming new leadership. These changes are expected to help close the profit-gap with its competitors.
Paul Singer's Elliott Investment Management initiated an overhaul review of Goodyear, proposing stock price could go back to its 2000 level. CEO Kramer asserts Goodyear's positioning needs change amidst rising costs and competition, especially from global EV entrants and low-cost tires from Asia.
Despite a year-on-year gain of 4.2%, Goodyear's performance fell short of the market average. However, shareholders are slightly hopeful as the business seems to be stabilizing, although long-term share price still paints a dreary picture.
